Effective date: [1.7.0 RELEASE DATE]. This policy covers the Fart Me To The Moon iOS app (“the game”) and its official website, fart.falogames.com (also available at fartmetothemoon.com). The game and site are made by Falò Games (“we”, “us”).
1. The short version
The game is free. It shows ads served by Google AdMob: optional rewarded videos you choose to watch, and occasionally a short ad between runs, never during a flight.
Buying PERKS (a one-time in-app purchase) switches off the between-run ads.
We run an optional online leaderboard that uses a random ID, the nickname you pick, the country you pick and your run stats. No email, no real name, no GPS location, no chat.
The game does not ask for permission to track you (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt) and does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA).
In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before any ad is requested. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy options in the game’s Settings screen.
2. Data stored on your device
Your player name, country, character, coins, upgrades, achievements, foods eaten, personal bests, settings and ad counters (for example, when the last ad was shown) are stored on your device. If you’re signed in to iCloud, your game progress and friends list are also synced between your own devices through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. Apple handles that copy under Apple’s privacy terms, and we never receive it.
3. Data sent to our leaderboard server
When you finish a run or use the leaderboard screens, the game connects to our own server (api-fart.falogames.com) and sends:
a random per-install player ID (generated on first launch; not your Apple ID and not an advertising identifier);
the nickname you chose and the country you picked from a list (never your GPS location);
your run stats: score, flight time, fart count, coins collected, highest planet reached, launch planet and route score;
whether you own the PERKS pack (a yes/no flag called has_expansion), and whether you bought it before version 1.7.0 (“Founder”);
whether the run used an ad-powered bonus (the “Second Wind” revive or a one-run character trial);
the app version;
when you browse: the leaderboard you asked for, your own rank lookup, or a friend code you searched for.
We use this data only to run the leaderboards (global, country, planet, monthly/yearly/all-time, rank and friend-code lookup) and to keep them fair. We never sell it or share it with advertisers. Our server also keeps ordinary technical logs, such as IP address and timestamps, for security and abuse prevention.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google’s User Messaging Platform to show ads. Google, not Falò Games, receives and processes the advertising data under Google’s Privacy Policy and its policy for partner apps. To serve, cap, measure and protect ads against fraud, Google’s SDK may collect:
device and app identifiers, such as an app-scoped identifier. The game never shows the tracking-permission prompt, so Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to it;
approximate location, estimated from your IP address;
advertising data (which ads were shown and how you interacted with them);
product interaction (for example, app launches and taps on ads);
crash, performance and other diagnostic data.
Apple’s App Store privacy label for the game lists these categories. Because Google’s SDK declares its device identifier as “used for tracking”, the label shows Device ID – used for tracking. The game itself does not request tracking permission and does not track you across other companies’ apps.
Where ads appear:
Rewarded ads play only when you tap a button offering a reward, such as double coins or a second wind.
Between-run ads are occasional, time-limited, never shown mid-flight, and never shown to PERKS owners.
The game has no banner ads and no ads on app launch.
Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences (Google’s “PG” maximum ad content rating).
Your choices:
UK, EEA and Switzerland: Google’s consent form appears before any ad is requested. You can accept or refuse personalised ads. If you refuse, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use limited data such as coarse location and device information for frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy options in the game’s Settings screen (open it from the main menu).
Everywhere: you can manage Google’s ad settings at adssettings.google.com. Buying PERKS removes between-run ads. You can skip rewarded ads entirely.
5. In-app purchase (PERKS)
PERKS (previously sold as “Beyond the Moon”) is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. The only purchase information we store is the yes/no flag and the Founder flag described in section 3. We use them to show badges on the leaderboard and to switch off between-run ads.
6. Children
The game is rated 9+ on the App Store. It is made for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t ask for an email, a real name or anything that could identify a child. The nickname is generated or self-chosen and can be changed at any time. If you’re a parent and believe your child has submitted leaderboard data you want removed, contact us through the support page with the friend code shown in the game, and we’ll delete it.
7. The website
Cookies and analytics. This website uses one strictly necessary cookie, fmttm_cookie_consent, which remembers your cookie choice for six months. If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*, kept for up to two years) are set only after you accept; until then Google Analytics isn’t loaded. Google may process technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit, which may involve transfers outside the UK and the EEA. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or with the button below. The game itself does not use Google Analytics.
Support form. Messages are checked with Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce spam, then delivered by email through our mail provider. We keep them only as long as needed to answer you, fix bugs or deal with abuse. Our web host keeps basic server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps).
8. Legal bases (UK and EU)
Leaderboard data is processed to provide the online feature you choose to use, which is our legitimate interest in running fair leaderboards.
Personalised ads and website analytics rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Non-personalised ads rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the game free.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
Leaderboard scores are kept so that yearly and all-time boards keep working. To delete your data:
In the game: open Settings from the main menu, tap RESET ALL PROGRESS and confirm. This clears your local save and creates a new player ID, so your old server records are no longer linked to you.
By request: send your friend code (shown in the game) through the support page, and we’ll delete the matching server records.
For advertising data, use Privacy options in the game and Google’s controls linked above.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, object to its processing, or withdraw consent. Contact us through the support page. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or, in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
11. Changes
If our data practices change, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
